Thank you for all the support from the Running community.
We will be back with a bigger bang in 2024
Adelaide Marathon is South Australia’s premier running event, and runs along all the major scenic locations within the Adelaide CBD. In 2023, Adelaide will host the 45th edition of this iconic race, which has run without a break now, and probably the only race in Australia that was held even during the heights of COVID-19, in a safe setting.
The race is run along a 2-lap course and has an elevation gain of roughly 160 meters. The course is very spectator friendly and allows spectators to get to different parts of the course to cheer on the runners with minimal effort. Runners will start at the Bonython Park, part of the heritage listed Adelaide Parklands, and heads on to the Adelaide Oval through the War memorial drive. The course then heads along River Torrens and the Uniloop, the famous stomping grounds of many of the Adelaide running groups. The course then goes through Botanic Park, along the Zoo and back on to River Torrens to finish back at the Bonython Park.
The course is AIMS certified, enabling participants to qualify for iconic races like the Boston Marathon.
In 2023, PREPD Hydration are the title sponsors for the Marathon and Half-Marathon.
There’s prize money on offer for the top 5 place getters, along with the top SARRC finisher.
Adelaide Marathon is organised by the South Australian Road Runners Club (SARRC). SARRC is a not-for-profit club run by members and volunteers. Visit www.sarrc.org.au for more information about the club.
