A feature of the Adelaide Marathon Festival has been the celebration of those runners who have complete many of the Marathons. These are called Warriors and legends. The records of their achievements are closely monitored by the SARRC historian Ian Hill. Questions on records should be address to him.
After the 2020 event this list was updated and notes those at 9 marathons as well. Legends&warriors2020
This year was also notable for the wrong reason but at least there was an Adelaide Marathon! Again only 10 existing Warriors continued to add to their tally but for the first time since 2014 there were no new Warriors. There almost certainly would have been, with David Staehr on 9 finishes entering, but unfortunately he was stranded in Victoria.
Therefore the 2020 tally of 10 Warriors finishing is the new minimum! Again only one legend managed to finish.

It is an honour for me to join Peter Worley on 35 finishes and my time was almost the same as Peter’s in 2018.
It’s been a long haul and gets harder every year. Regardless, I hope that 2021 will see some sort of stability with
the racing program and everyone’s revised goals. Well done to the SARRC for making the third date happen in 2020!
